Untitled by Keith Haring and LA II, 1984

“This irony is even more apparent in the plaster sculptures I did with L.A.”
“L.A. 2 is short for Little Angel Two, a graffiti-writer from the Lower East Side in New York City. His “signature” is a typically New York version of what I feel is as close as the Western World has gotten to a stylized form of writing similar to Eastern calligraphy. We bought the sculptures in Torino, painted them Day-Glo, and then L.A. and I covered them with our “tags.” I only wish Michelangelo could see them, but then again maybe he will.” –Keith Haring
